The skin in quarantine

Yes, it is now known, even the skin gets stressed! In addition to external factors such as atmospheric pollution, UV rays or due to a diet that is not suited to one's rhythms of life, stress adds to these phenomena and helps to accelerate natural skin aging. The forced quarantine due to the need to counter the spread of covid-19 is often the cause of the lack of sleep and the consequent out of phase life rhythm. Taken together, the stress factors trigger a high production of cortisol, the stress hormone, to the point of making the skin more vulnerable. If left unchecked, this excessive production weakens the skin and makes it more exposed to the oxidative risk produced by free radicals. In deteriorating, the skin barrier with collagen and elastin are damaged and causing an opacity of the skin that also becomes less elastic. Wrinkles are a sign of sagging of the dermis, the deepest layer of the skin. Free radicals are, as mentioned, a determining factor in the evolution of wrinkles. From the age of 25/30, skin care for the prevention of wrinkles must take place daily. In particular, care must be taken to wash the skin with products that eliminate impurities, and apply creams that moisturize and nourish. It thus becomes extremely important not to forget to cleanse the face in the morning and in the evening to cleanse the skin of waste released by pollution. This care must be followed even if you do not wear makeup, applying creams in the different areas of the face, such as eye and lip contours, or lotions suitable for the décolleté. The Italian woman shows greater attention to the ingredients of beauty products with a percentage of 55% compared to 46% of European women (51% in Germany, 48% in Spain, 32% in the United Kingdom). Italian consumers consider Skincare as an essential cosmetic category considering facial care products as a long-term investment for maintaining youth, improving and protecting the skin from external aggressors.
